It’s time for another Friendship Circle Field Trip! We will be taking the bus uptown to see Esperanza Rising at the Children’s Theatre. This show is one act and approximately one hour long. Read the play description below to learn more.

IMPORTANT BUS INFO:  

The bus will be leaving Friendship Circle promptly at 3:20pm. Please plan to arrive no later than 3:15pm. The bus will plan to be back on camus around 5:40pm. We will communicate in the GroupMe all travel updates if we will be later than that for any reason.

Play description: 

Smart and stubborn teenager Esperanza Ortega lives the life of a rich girl in 1920s Mexico wearing pretty clothes and attending private school. The day before her birthday tragedy strikes, setting a chain of events into motion that forever change her life. She and her family flee Mexico for the United States only to face new struggles as they start again during the Great Depression. This powerful story illuminates loss and shines a light on hard work and hope.
